University, foundation, and developer collaboration to revitalize a troubled area
UDA has been integrally involved in the revitalization of the Kendall-Whittier neighborhood in Tulsa over the past decade. Immediately adjacent to the University of Tulsa and challenged neighborhoods, UDA was hired by the George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) and McCormack Baron Salazar to create a revitalization plan for the new West Park development, which includes 7.5 acres of mixed-income housing, mixed-use, and a new state-of-the-art recreational park. The neighborhood’s revitalization centers around GKFF’s investment in education at the elementary school and a high-performing early childhood education center.
