Architecture for a hill town in the Canadian Rockies
Situated on a remarkable clearing in the Canadian Rockies, this project is part of the new paradigm of resort community development. Rather than building a sprawling low-density resort, the goal was to develop a fully-functioning compact hill town, preserving more natural open space. Buildings were designed to shape public spaces, squares, and urban streets that provide a sequence of unique experiences for residents and visitors. UDA provided urban design studies and illustrations of the new resort and conceptual and schematic architecture services for a boutique hotel and condominium building as part of the first phase of development. UDA partnered with MTA, a Calgary architectural firm.
