A dead mall is transformed into a vibrant mixed-use district
The days of the suburban malls is over. However, UDA answered the challenge to how to reposition them for the future into new urban places. UDA was hired by a local developer to create a phasing plan for transformations into a complete mixed-use district of office, residential and hotel uses over retail, dining and entertainment on the ground floor. The new MidCity will be anchored by a 1,500 seat performing arts center and an 8,500-seat amphitheater.
