Galveston Neighborhood Master Plans

Three mixed-income communities introduced into Galveston

UDA prepared plans for three neighborhoods in Galveston: Magnolia Homes, Cedar Terrace, and Oleander Homes. These plans are refinements to previous plans by introducing a mixed-income approach for housing. UDA studied Galveston's neighborhoods' architecture and landscape patterns and applied those patterns in the new design proposals. The residential uses are located above the base flood elevations, accommodate a mix-of-income ranges, are visitable, have modern amenities, and are grouped around significant green spaces. The sites have on-site parking and a range of site amenities, including community buildings, playgrounds, sidewalks, quality lighting, and landscaping.
