3rd + 4th Street Corridor Plan

Parallel studies create a corridor of opportunity

UDA prepared a land-use plan for the 3rd/4th Street Corridor in downtown Chattanooga for the River City Company. This corridor is an axis of emerging economic development, linking together the downtown, the University of Tennessee campus, the hospital district, and the east-end neighborhoods. Unlike other cities with similar corridors, Chattanooga lacks a clearly defined boulevard that connects the districts. This study paralleled a transportation study prepared by Parsons Brinckerhoff for the city to improve the road linkages. The two efforts collaborated in a public planning process to create recommendations for complementary infrastructure and land use initiatives.
